Most dogs have a beautiful bond with humans if they have been treated well and trained properly, most would never even touch a single soul.
Sadly, there is some mistreated and poorly trained that behave aggressively, both to humans and animals alike.
When this is a small dog it’s bad enough but with a large dog, it becomes dangerous and scary! When adopting a rescue dog this has to be thought out and carefully considered.
Catherine Svilicic had agonised over her decision to adopt only days before the incident happened.It was early October when Catherine was in her backyard enjoying a nice moment in the sun.

Her 17-month-old daughter, Charlotte, was playing nearby, watched over by their newly adopted Dobermann called Khan who they had brought home only 4 days before.
His former life had not been good, when we came into the animal shelter he was underfed and had social anxiety. Still he was a friendly and calm dog so was put up for adoption.
It was a day like any other up to this point, enjoyable and calm until something happened that changed all of that in an instant.
“Khan was really concentrating and was acting aggressive towards Charlotte and kept trying to nudge her but it wasn’t working, so he grabbed her by the back of the nappy and threw her more than a meter,” Catherine Svilicic told Australian newspaper, Adelaide Now.
The mother was stunned by what she witnesses, the dog’s behaviour was so out of character for his usually passive and caring demeanour.
But then, as she rushed to her daughter’s side she spotted something slithering under the house: a poisonous snake!
Almost at that very same moment, Khan who was towering between her and the snake made a painfully loud noise and recoiled in agony.
Soon it dawned on Catherine that Khan had used his size and strength to protect the little girl from a highly dangerous king brown snake, one of the world’s most poisonous snakes.
Catherine acted quickly, she put her daughter in the car and rushed Khan to the vet before it was too late. Khan was given the antidote and miraculously managed to survive.
If it wasn’t for the brave actions of Khan’s, Charlotte would have probably been bitten instead and might not have been here today.
Even though Khan had only been in his new home for a matter of days he was already prepared to put his own life on the line to protect the 18-month-old charlotte from danger. What a hero!
I knew that dogs were incredibly loyal but this story just enforces how special their love is.
I don’t know many humans that would have done what Khan did for little Charlotte that day, do you?
