More than a few people have “Run with the bulls in Spain” on their bucket list of things to do before they die, and for good reason. While many animal rights activists have scoffed at the festival, something can be said for the sense of tradition that comes along with it. The thrill and exhilaration which come from attempting to outpace a 2,000lb. bull are nearly unmatched, and the food is simply divine. Through the entire festival the general atmosphere is one of celebration and while running does incur some (albeit obvious) risks, even the spectators attempt to help keep things as safe as possible. Naturally that doesn’t always work and someone winds up gored more often than we’d like to admit, but it’s the thought that counts.
During this particular running with the bulls there was one lone behemoth of a bull who decided chasing people was no longer his forte. After making it around one particularly sharp bend he noticed a green 4×4 parked off on the left-hand side of the road. There does appear to be people in the SUV who just wanted a closer look at the event, but the bull didn’t seem to like that. Turning around to face the vehicle the bull charged forward and popped a tire without putting much effort in at all, but he wasn’t done there! The massive beast continued to ram its horn into the wheel well, eventually ripping quite the large hole in either the washer fluid or the coolant, it’s a little hard to tell.
Regardless of what you feel about the festival it’s generally understood that these animals will only react in the way they’re bred to – violently. If you do decide to live out that dream of running yourself, just remember it’s at the risk of your own life. If that bull can puncture through the steel in a car, he can definitely go through skin and bone.
