A mother and father in South Carolina have been arrested after they reportedly broke their 7-month-old son’s arm while violently twisting it.
According to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, 19-year-old Madison Campbell Davis and 20-year-old William Michael Bachelor have been arrested on serious child neglect charges.
Authorities say the parents were arrested on December 12 after a warrant for their immediate arrest was issued a few days earlier.
According to the warrant, Davis and Bachelor reportedly placed their 7-month-old son at unreasonable risk on December 5, when they twisted the child’s arm to the point that the tiny boy was diagnosed with a spiral humerus fracture at Palmetto Health Tuomey.
Although not much is known about why the couple twisted their son’s arm to the point of fracturing it, the reaction on social media has been immediate.
“I would absolutely love to shake these two’s hands. It won’t hurt long..,” Barry Sherry wrote on the WBTW News13 Facebook page.
“So twist and fracture their arms and let them see how he felt,” George Dickel added.
“Praying that the child will never have to see these two again, and gets a loving home where he isn’t abused. This makes me so angry because there are childless couples out there, who would give anything to have a child,” Nancy Webber wrote.
