Man Agrees To Take Drunk Mom Home From Casino, Pays The Price

A Louisiana woman shot and killed her son as he drove her and another individual home after leaving a casino where they were celebrating her birthday.

Dora Blake, 47, was arrested after allegedly shooting her son, Patrick Hollingsworth, 22, and his girlfriend’s mother, reports Daily Mail.

A 2014 Nissan Sentra that was transporting the party was allegedly discovered crashed into trees after the incident.

The three were celebrating Blake’s birthday at the casino when Blake made a drunken scene and was asked to leave by the venue’s security.

According to authorities, they left the casino and were driving down the I-20 from Bossier City to either Jonesboro or Minden.

Bossier police responded to the crash around 10:20 pm and found Hollingsworth deceased in the driver’s seat with a gunshot wound to his head.

His girlfriend’s mother was seated in the front seat of the vehicle and found to have gunshot wound to her shoulder before being taken to University health in Shreveport with non-life threatening wounds, according to KTBS.

Investigators say Blake was highly intoxicated that night and had taken a handgun located under the car seat, and shot the two victims. Authorities say her reasons for committing the act were “without provocation” and unclear.

Bystanders at the scene told officers that Blake got out of the backseat of the car and claimed she had been kidnapped and shot the other two people in self-defense.

“None of that made sense, that there was any type of kidnapping,” Bossier Sheriff’s Office spokesman St. Bill Davis told Inside Edition.

The mother of Hollingsworth’s girlfriend said the shooting was “spontaneous” and alleges that no fighting nor dispute had taken place prior to it.

Investigators say that Blake was taken to the hospital for medical observation before being apprehended by authorities.

During her detainment, police say that Blake was too drunk, so they interviewed when she claimed she had no memory of the incident.

Blake has been indicted for first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. She is being detained on a $1 million bond. Prior to this, she was charged with simple arson in 2011 after setting fire to her house with her husband inside.
