After a night out with her husband, Paula Grzelak-Schultz decided to leave her car at the restaurant and take an Uber home in order to avoid drinking and driving. If you’ve ever left your vehicle anywhere, you know the fear of possibly returning to a boot, a ticket, a mean note from the business… or no car at all because it was towed.
When Paula returned to ‘Original Joes’ in Sherwood Park, Alberta to get her car the next day, she was surprised to find that none of those horrible scenarios happened. Instead, she discovered a heartwarming note on her windshield from the restaurant.
Paula shared the note on her Facebook page and it is going viral, garnering over 8,000 shares and 20,000 ‘Likes’.
It read:
“Dear Original Joe’s Sherwood Park Guest,
Just wanted to thank you for leaving your car parked overnight. I’m not sure if you had consumed alcohol at our restaurant or not, but we wanted to thank you for not drinking and driving. Enclosed is voucher good for 1lb of our delicious chicken wings. Please accept this as a thank you for being responsible. Life is valuable, have a great weekend.”

The awesome note was left by Jay McLean who is the managing partner of the restaurant. McLean says he started leaving notes on cars to encourage others not to drink and drive. He cares about fighting drunk driving through kindness and great examples.
What a great encouragement! Share this story today to help the fight.
