As humans, we are all born with distinct personalities, desires, passions, interests, and disinterests. In my own life, I have independent groups of friends that I hang out with at separate moments.
Compartmentalizing my friendships has saved me the awkwardness of mixing the wrong people together. It is only natural that some personality types present a bit of a challenge to others. It’s just not the reality of our world that everybody will make great friends.
There are situations, however, in which we cannot dictate who we choose to have around us: family, work, school. Going into these environments, we can only hope that we blend well as opposed to driving away.
Varying temperaments is not exclusive to only humans. Animals have characteristics of their own as well, and these traits can not only mirror that of a human, but repel another of their species the way it sometimes happens between people.
After having a pet for quite a while, the bond grows strong and the animal can get really attached. This attachment might look like them following you around the house all day, barking at strangers who come near you, or antagonizing other animals that try to make themselves comfortable around you.
Whether or not this is an issue you face with your animal, it can be a little nerve-wracking to bring another pet or family member into your home.
One golden retriever named Oakley was used to being the animal of the house. When the family decided to expand, they were unsure how Oakley would adjust.
But they had no need to worry! When they brought home a 9-week-old golden retriever named Honey, they were astonished at how well the two took to one another.
In the video below, we see Oakley sniff Honey out as she rests in the arms of their owner. Soon enough, the two are running around the floor, tails wagging and all! It is the cutest thing ever! What a relief that must have been.
We are so happy to see that everything went smoothly for Honey, Oakley, and their family! We’re sure these two are going to be the best of friends!
