This Sealed Bottle Garden Has Been Thriving Since 1972 Without Being Watered

I am absolutely amazed by this story. This sealed bottle garden has been thriving since 1960 with only one-time watering.

David Latimer has grown a sealed bottle garden on Easter Sunday in 1960. He planted spiderwort sprout in this 10-gallon glass carboy, water it, and sealed the bottle. In 1972, he opened the bottle and added a bit of more water and sealed again. That’s it. (source)

David is over 80 year old now. His sealed bottle garden is still thriving. Isn’t cool? Now I start to think that one day we might really be able to move to Mars!
