A Dallas art teacher has been placed on administrative leave after video surfaced showing her squirting a water gun at an image of President Donald Trump in a fake assassination (video below).
Payal Modi, an art teacher at W.H. Adamson High School in Dallas is on administrative leave and is under investigation after the video surfaced, according to the Daily Mail.
In the video, which was initially posted on Instagram, Modi shoots a water gun at an image of Trump, which was projected on a whiteboard, while yelling, “Die!”
The video was reportedly recorded in the teacher’s classroom, according to a post on her Instagram page.
“Watching the #inauguration in my classroom like… #no #stop #denial #squirtgun #hypocrisy #powerless,” Modi’s caption read.
It is unclear whether students were in the classroom while the video was recorded, but laughs can be heard in the background of the video.
The Dallas Independent School District issued a statement following the decision to place Modi on administrative leave.
“Today, we were made aware of a social media posting being circulated involving a teacher at W.H. Adamson High School,” the district’s statement reads. “The teacher has been placed on administrative leave and the district has opened an investigation. This is a personnel matter and, as such, we cannot comment.”
According to WFAA, public records show that Modi has been an employee of Dallas ISD since August 2014.
