What Is Your Pee Trying To Tell You?

People don’t really pay much attention to the color of their urine when it comes to health. But, what people do not realize, is that urine has more to do with your health than you think.

Instead of just flushing it down, when you have a problem the first place you might want to check is your urine. The variety of colors mean different things, but they can tell you a lot about your body.

No color/transparent
You are drinking a lot of water; it may be advisable to cut back a little.
Pale or straw-colored urine
Norma, healthy, and well hydrated.
Dark Yellow
Normal, but it would be advisable to drink water soon.
Amber or Honey colored
You are not getting enough water, drink some now!
Syrupy or Brown
Liver disease is a possibility; severe dehydration is also a possibility, but drink water and see if the condition persists.

Pink or Red
Have you been eating an abundance of beets or blueberries recently? If not, this could be blood in your urine. It is also a sign of kidney disease, tumors, urinary tract infection, prostate problems, or lead or mercury poisoning. Contact your doctor immediately.

Orange
You are probably not drinking enough water, or you could have a liver or bile duct condition. Food dye could cause it, but it is best to contact your doctor if the color does not clear up with water.

Blue or green
Yes, I know this is different, but there is a rare genetic disease that can change your urine to either of these colors. It can also be a bacterial infection, food dye, or medication. You will not die, but see your doctor if it persists.

Foaming or fizzing
It is a harmless hydraulic effect, if it is only seen occasional. But it could be an indication of excess protein in your urine, or even a kidney problem. See your doctor if the condition persists.
