Matthew Perry’s death is still a sore subject for all those who knew and loved him. The beloved actor passed away late last month, and the sudden manner of his demise was keenly felt by his legion of fans around the world.
The Friends star had battled his demons, including drug addiction and alcoholism, for years, but with the release of his memoir last year, titled Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, Perry spoke about getting his life back on track.
Indeed, an initial toxicology report confirmed that there was no trace of drugs such as fentanyl or meth in the actor’s body at the time of his death. Three weeks removed from Perry’s passing, however, one of his ex-girlfriend’s Kayti Edwards has made a bold claim that might come as a surprise to some…
Perry was found dead of an apparent drowning in a hot tub at his home in LA on October 28, prompting an outpour of grief from the entertainment industry and beyond.
The actor, who shot to worldwide fame thanks to his portrayal of Chandler Bing in the massively successful sitcom Friends, was buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles last weekend – his Friends co-stars were all in attendance.

Much has been rumored since the 54-year-old’s sudden passing, with all manner of speculation having surfaced as to Perry’s cause of death.
Kayti Edwards, a former model, claimed to have dated Perry for a short time in 2006 after the pair met at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.
Speaking to The Sun, she speculated that Perry had potentially “relapsed” in the weeks leading up to his death.
“I know Matthew and I know that he wouldn’t have just drowned,” she said.
“I think he might have taken pills in the week leading up to this.”
Edwards said that though she and Perry dated only briefly, they remained close afterwards – she also claimed to have worked as his assistant in 2011.
“They said there were no prescription painkillers at the scene, which doesn’t surprise me, because he didn’t leave drugs lying around,” she went on.
On top of that, Edwards referred to Perry’s last ever Instagram post, suggesting it was proof that the actor may have relapsed.
“Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good? I’m Mattman,” Perry posted days before his death, along with a picture of himself sitting in his hot tub.
“That Mattman thing was not something he did when he was sober. Mattman would come out when he was not sober and he felt kind of invincible,” Edwards said, as per Page Six.
“I was around when he was getting high, although I was not getting high with him, and when I would say maybe he should cool it a little bit with the drugs, he would say, ‘No, I’m Mattman.’”
