A Bulgarian man who lives near the Turkish border has taken it upon himself to prevent refugees from crossing the border illegally. When a group of more than 10 migrants tried to make it across his land, he stopped them entirely by himself. Part of the incident was captured on film (video below).
Dinko Valev, a Bulgarian strongman who lives near the Turkish border, is known as “The Destroyer,” and a group of migrants learned the hard way how he earned that nickname.
Valev spends much of his spare time riding around his property on an ATV, making sure that nobody is trying to illegally cross the border through his land. Because of his high success rate, local law enforcement has come to know Valev as a sort of one-man border patrol.
In an interview, which was translated by Shoebat.com, Valev described what happened when a large group of refugees attempted to sneak through his property.
“Suddenly someone jumped out of the bushes in front of me. I did not know he was a migrant at first. I stopped and got off the ATV to see what’s going on, he rushed me trying to take me down, possibly to steal the ATV,” Valev recalled. “I punched him a couple of times and he went down. I kicked him 3 times for good measure and he started yelling some ‘allah-mallah.’”
Valev says that shortly after, another 11 men came running out of the woods, as well as 3 women and a child.
“All of the men coming out of the woods started rushing me aggressively – to fight, to crush. I fought the first 3 and put them on the ground bleeding,” he said. “The others gave up after seeing that. One of them had a sharp object, maybe a screwdriver. I know English perfecly, so I told them that if they do not lay on the ground immediately I will kill one of them.”
When asked if the group listened to his orders, Valev responded, “Of course they did. Wouldn’t you?”
Valev filmed moments after, when the entire group was laying on the ground, face down, as per his request.
According to the Daily Mail, Valev has been organizing hunts for illegal immigrants. Once the migrants are captured, he turns them over to police. The hunts, however, have been criticized by the Helsinki Committee, who are demanding that officials crack down on Valev’s migrant roundups.
A spokesman for the Helsinki Committee told the Daily Mail, “Valev admits that he has hurt these people. His victims included men, women and children fleeing Syria. In one incident, he forced them to lie face down for half an hour after terrorising them with death threats. In another refugee roundup, he boasts about tracking a man for a while before finally capturing him. He repeatedly makes offensive remarks about refugees and it’s clear that he plans to expand his volunteer corps to focus on capturing more asylum seekers. Even more worrying is that he wasts the state to fund his operation and to pay for every captured refugee. So he is not only spreading fear of refugees within Bulgarian society, and inspiring people to treat them with disgust and hostility, and to reject them, but he’s also asking for his actions to be supported.”
