My whole family love tomatoes. We use tomatoes in our daily cooking, slice them for salads, or just eat them raw as fruits. So every Spring, tomato is always on the top of my to-plant list. We usually buy seeds from Home Depot and grow tomato seedlings, or buy tomato plants directly and grow them in our garden. But I just came across this easy and inexpensive way to grow tomatoes and would like to share with you.
If you’ve got any overripe tomatoes in your fridge, don’t throw them away! You can actually use them to grow new tomato plants. In this tutorial, YouTube channel The Wannabe Homesteader demonstrates the easiest way to grow tomato seedlings. All you need is a pot, soil and an overripe tomato. Just slice the tomato into 4 pieces and place them in a pot of soil. Sprinkle a thin layer of soil over the tomato slices and water it regularly. Within 7 to 14 days, seeds should start to sprout and you can move the seedlings to other pots. With minimal amount of efforts, you can grow your own tomatoes and enjoy the fresh fruit. Follow the video and learn the details of this easy tip. Enjoy!
