Cat gets wedged in unthinkable position, but community rallies together for amazing rescue.

Cats love to get themselves into precarious positions. Whether it is dangling from Christmas trees or getting stuck thanks to their curiosity, they just can’t stay out of trouble.

When retired captain, Deputy Mike Scott, responded to a call for assistance he did not expect to find himself faced with a cat trapped between a garage door and a wall. It was a first in his 34 years of law enforcement.

Working in cooperation with neighbors, Deputy Scott was able to free the cat just as her owner arrived home from a trip to the lumber store. “Oh my God, Bella,” the homeowner exclaimed, seeing the cat in the deputy’s arms.

Working in cooperation with neighbors, Deputy Scott was able to free the cat just as her owner arrived home from a trip to the lumber store. “Oh my God, Bella,” the homeowner exclaimed, seeing the cat in the deputy’s arms.

Deputy Scott was surprised to learn that Bella’s owner had lost nearly everything in a flood, and had been out purchasing supplies for repairs. Bella, a bright spot in the devastation, had been tucked up on the garage door, out of sight of her owner, and was, fortunately, uninjured.

“After losing so much from the flood, I was happy that I could save the homeowner’s cat. Thank God for miracles and good neighbors,” Deputy Scott said, praising the help he’d had from other homeowners nearby. “The neighbors were very helpful as we cautiously removed the upper frame molding that allowed some space for us to remove the cat. With a joint effort—we were able to remove the cat alive.”
