For the average person, staying at a hotel is a luxury experience. Unless you travel a lot, you don’t get the opportunity to crawl into a bed that isn’t yours and was professional made up for you. A hotel stay should be a de-stressing, relaxing experience that allows people to get away from the mundane parts of life.
Not only should you never have to worry about cleanliness in your hotel, you also get to crawl into a made bed every night.
But when one guest decided to turn in for the night, he found a disturbing note tucked underneath his sheets. Find out what the message said below…
After a busy day in an unfamiliar city, the traveler in our story decided it was time to crawl into bed and read a book before falling asleep.
He pulled back the sheets and slipped into the comfortable bed. But then he heard a crinkling sound. It was a piece of paper that he had just sat on top of.
Quickly, he grabbed it and put on his glasses so he could read the stranger’s note. What it said not only left the traveler confused, but deeply disturbed and disgusted…
The last person to stay in the room issued the following warning:
“If you’re reading this, then housekeeping did not change your sheets!”
Apparently, the last visitor wanted to test the cleanliness of the hotel and left the note for the next guest. The Courtyard Marriot failed to clean the bed and just left the same sheets on there that the previous guest had dirtied.
This note was proof that the housekeeping team at the hotel did not change the sheets. They had simply left the ones the previous guest had used on the bed.
It was like the hotel guest was sleeping with a complete stranger.
Every time you stay at a hotel, you face hidden health risks, RN Central reports. For anyone who takes a hotel stay for granted, you face many problems that won’t just ruin your vacation but potentially upend your life.
You need to be aware of:
Ice Buckets: Hotel staff infrequently clean these germ-infested surfaces. As guests frequently use these buckets as vomit containers, they’re not clean for next-day use. The housekeeping staff simply rinse them out and put them back in your room.
Bed Bugs: This oft publicized epidemic is actually worse than the news media outlets let on. As one professional discussed in a video, you need to check your hotel room carefully for bed bugs every time you check in. You’ll need to check the mattress, the end tables, and the luggage rack as bed bugs call these places home.
Heard something crinkle when I settled in for the night…
Hot Tubs: While you probably want to jump into these warm, relaxation centers, they’re usually disgusting. They’re ripe breeding grounds for bacteria, viruses, and fungi. While hotels clean the water, they don’t clean the pipes. That’s where these problems can grow.
Do you take precautions before lying down in your hotel bed? Will you check your rooms from now on?
