Many people love their pets and consider their precious ‘fur babies’ as part of the family. It’s hard to fathom, then, just how cruel other people can be towards our four-legged friends. One officer heard some whimpering, and it led him to a puppy who had recently been buried alive.
Police officers in Florida were in a wooded area in Williston on another assignment. Soon, they started hearing an unusual noise. They couldn’t figure out what it was or where it was coming from, so they decided to follow it and see where it would lead.
It led them to a pile of dirt. They weren’t sure what was under it, but after a little digging, they were shocked to find a helpless little puppy dog. About a half foot of soil had been piled on top of the little guy, and he surely wouldn’t have survived for very long if hadn’t been found.
The officers took the poor dog to the vet, who estimated he was only about a week old. They named the little guy ‘Tucker’ and began bottle feeding him. Considering how he was left for dead, Tucker was thankfully in good health.
Officers and vet staff were disturbed by just how sick and cruel a person could be. If someone doesn’t want a puppy, they can bring it to a shelter or offer it to a person in newspaper ads. What kind of demented mind does a person have to have to think burying it and leaving it to die a slow and painful death is even an option?
Thankfully, there was a happy ending in store for Tucker. One of the vet techs completely fell in love with the little guy and adopted him. Tucker is going to have a happy home where he is well taken care of by someone who cares. Hopefully, at his tender age, he can put his tragic past behind him and enjoy life.
