Mom Gives Birth To Baby #4, But When They Tell Her How Big He Is She Almost Passes Out

File this one under “That’s a whole lot of baby” We’ve seen some big babies as of late.

We’ve seen some big babies as of late. There was the 14-pound boy born in Melbourne, Australia and the 13.5 pounder in Keystone Heights, Florida. But one Indiana mom looked around, cracked her knuckles and said, “I’ll see your squishy babies, and raise you one 16-pound newborn.”

Yes, you read that right. She gave birth to a 16 pound baby.

Whitney Hallett knew she was going to have a big baby. The 28 year-old mother was diagnosed with gestational diabetes during her pregnancy, a condition that can cause newborns to grow larger in utero. Her other children weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces, and 11 pounds, 1 ounce, and 9 pounds, 14 ounces, respectively. But no one expected Waylon Cole to be 16 pounds. And why would they? Nowhere in those baby books does it say, “This week, your baby is approximately the size of a miniature schnauzer.”

“The doctors and nurses were like, ‘Oh my god!’” dad, Edmond Hallett, told Us Weekly in an interview. “We ended up weighing him three times because no one could believe he actually weighed 16 pounds. At first I thought maybe the scale was broken.”
