Groom Drops Bombshell On Wife Before She Can Even Say ‘I Do’

A South Carolina groom with an amputated leg surprised his bride at their wedding and made everyone cry in the process (video below).

Fifteen years ago, Kevin Taylor broke his leg and developed Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome, or RSD, a rare disorder that causes the afflicted to suffer from intense pain.

There are no treatments or known causes for RSD, according to the Greenville Gazette. His situation only got worse and surgeons had no choice but to amputate his leg in 2009. Doctors told Taylor his was the worst case of RSD they had ever seen. Taylor believed he would be relegated to a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

“I didn’t really think much about it. I was … strong,” said Taylor. “The way I look at it is that it could always be worse.”

In 2014, Taylor met Kim Didway. “I Walked in, he turned and had a grin from ear to ear. It was an instant connection,” she said. Didway added that he’s “the most amazing human being I’ve ever met in my entire life.”

Taylor says, “It was love at first sight.”

Didway never considered Taylor to be handicapped and explained, “His heart makes up for any lack of limb he has.”

Because of Didway’s love, he was inspired and motivated to walk again by the time the wedding ceremony rolled around, according to the Independent Journal Review.

“She looked at me as if I’m not in a wheelchair. She looks past that point,” said the groom.

A month before the big day, Taylor began physical therapy, learning to walk with a prosthetic leg. He would remain in the wheelchair until the wedding and then surprise her and all the guests by walking to his bride for the first time.

The minister would command the assembly to rise and his groomsmen would take Taylor’s chair away.

His plan worked. On the day of the ceremony, Taylor rose from his wheelchair and stood with his beautiful bride at the altar.

He escorted his bride down the aisle with confidence, overflowing with tears of joy. Didway immediately burst into tears and there was not a dry eye in the entire venue.
