Parents Baffled By Baby’s Injuries From Daycare, Then They Demand To See Security Footage

Parents have enough on their plate these days. With making sure their children are safe and well-fed, enrolled in school at the proper time, and more, parents have little bandwidth to deal with much else. But one thing that parents should invest more time in is choosing the right daycare for their child.

While money is certainly a factor, it cannot be the only reason to choose a facility. You get what you pay for. And as one couple from Missoula, Montana learned, their daycare was not as friendly and nurturing as it seemed on first blush…

Do not assume that every daycare center is high quality or well run. Always read the reviews online and in the various local business papers. Plus, when you visit make sure you get a good feeling from the care providers. Are they kind? You need to put your faith in these people and hope they care for your child the right way.

The Missoula, Montana couple learned the hard way. Now they are sharing their horror story about their 7-month-old baby at a daycare center.

Tracy Blinov and her husband picked up their baby from Busy Hands on Friday. When they got their child, the daycare workers told the parents that the baby had been bitten repeatedly by a toddler.

Blinov and her husband were horrified to see 8-10 injuries on their baby’s face.

“I don’t get it. I never will. Who let’s this kind of thing happen? I Let Eliana go to Busy Hands, and in less than 2 hours both sides of her face have been severely bitten and scratched by another child,” Blinov wrote on her Facebook page.

Mom could not understand why the daycare workers had failed so miserably.

“I’m utterly perplexed. Not sure I can ever let her out of my sight again. Sweet baby sleep in my arms forever, I’m never letting you go. My initial reaction was very heartbroken, but I understand kids are sometimes kids,” Blinov said. “I had no idea the of the severity of it, initially. They made it sound like it was just one bite mark.”

The couple called the owner of Busy Hands. They asked to review camera footage to discover why their child was injured.

“The two year old that bit Eliana appeared to attack her for about one minute and 29 seconds before staff intervened. There’s no sound but you can see her legs kicking and flailing in distress,” Blinov wrote in a Facebook update.

“The staff member belligerently lied in her incident report. Someone (unsure of who) took it so far as to lie to police about what happened by trying to claim we said/did things that absolutely 2000% never happened (like threaten violence, let’s be clear we DID NOT DO ANYTHING LIKE THAT).”

The daycare owner said: “This toddler that came in was a new customer and she neglected to tell us that the child was a biter and neglected to tell us that the week before she had been kicked out of Little Griz for biting a child. If that would have been told to us, we could have said ‘No, we can’t take her.’ ”

Do you think this daycare facility should be shut down for mistreating children?
