Traveling is stressful enough on its own, but when you are a parent traveling with young children, that stress increases tenfold. Kids are difficult to wrangle and you are constantly worried about how the other passengers are going to respond if your child starts crying or being loud.
One mom on a recent Southwest flight experienced this firsthand as she traveled with her two young daughters. Her baby suddenly burst into a loud crying fit on the plane and she couldn’t get her to stop. The poor mom was so stressed that she began to cry herself.
Suddenly, though, a knight in shining armor came to her rescue in the form of one of the flight attendants. He asked the mom to come to the back of the plane with him, and when they got there he pulled out some bubbles for the little girl and some tissues for the mom, entertaining the baby until she stopped crying and her mom could compose herself.
Fellow passenger Carrie Jaboor was so touched by the flight attendant’s kindness that she snapped a picture of him blowing bubbles with the little girl and posted the story to Facebook.
“There are some seriously kind people in this world,” Carrie wrote.
While many people may have gotten mad at the mother and child and made the situation worse, this flight attendant took the time to show them a little kindness, and in doing so he touched not only the mom and baby, but thousands of others who have since heard the story.
It just goes to show that a little bit of kindness can go a long way!
