Ex-Subway spokesman Jared Fogle got a brutal dose of prison justice this week when he was beaten by fellow inmate Steve Niggs at Colorado’s Englewood FCI in Littleton.
Niggs, who is serving a 15-year sentence for a gun conviction, walked away with barely a scratch, but will have to do a stint in solitary confinement for his attack on Fogle.
According to members of Fogle’s family, he’s “lucky to be alive,” as the brutal beatdown was meant to send a message to the convicted child molester.
For their part, Niggs’ family says he doesn’t take kindly to sex offenders.
Biggs’ brother told the media:
“He’s sending a message (to pedophiles) is what he’s doing. A guy walks in with all this money and celebrity and instead of flying under the radar, he’s going into the yard, walking around with big guys, saying no one can mess with me, flashing his money around.”
According to Newsiosity, one media source even reported that Niggs had told his brother, “I’m doing it for the families. I couldn’t help it.”
Apparently, a brief lapse in security gave Niggs all the opportunity he needed to attack Fogle.
Niggs, 60, is scheduled to be released in 2024. Fogle won’t be getting out of prison until late 2029 at the earliest.
The disgraced Subway fat man received a 16 year sentence as part of a plea deal relating to several charges of child pornography and engaging in sex with minors.
