Story Of Teen With Knife Who Was Shot Takes Unfortunate Turn

Logan Clark remains in a medically induced coma at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nevada, after having a stroke in the wake of surgery to remove part of his lung.  Clark was shot by police at Procter R. Hug High School in Reno on Dec. 7 after he brandished two knives in a fight with another student.

Logan’s father, Justin Clark, told Today his son was bullied at the school, and that administrators knew about the bullying and did nothing to stop it.

“My son wasn’t just some knife-wielding psychopath. It felt like he wanted to make sure he wasn’t beat up and robbed,” Justin said.

Justin went on to state that Logan’s posture with the knife was defensive, and that he had blood trickling from his mouth, which showed he had been in a fight with an older and much larger opponent.

“He just doesn’t want to be attacked anymore and that’s what happened … I think the officer could have evaluated that if he just paid attention a little bit,” Justin said.

Justin added that his son had been suspended from school for fighting, but that was also as a result of defending himself against school bullies.

The school has not yet released a statement. Justin has hired high-profile attorney David Houston, signaling what could be a lawsuit against the school and potentially the police officer and police department involved in the shooting.

Houston’s past clients have included former professional wrestler Hulk Hogan, and Joe Francis, the founder of the Girls Gone Wild video empire.
