A trip to Italy is a huge treat for anyone, but to meet the Pope while you’ve over there? That is truly an honor. So when a little 3-year-old girl from Georgia got the chance to visit the Vatican and meet Pope Francis, she made sure to make a memory no one– including the Pope– would soon forget!
The little girl, named Estella, was visiting Italy with her god-father, Mountain Butorac, a tour guide known as “The Catholic Traveler.”
After hours of waiting to see the Pope, Estella was growing restless, but then a member of the Papal security went into the crowd and asked if she’d like to meet the Pope. Of course she said yes, but– as the Pope gave her a kiss– she reached her little hand up towards his “zuchetto…”
…and snatched it right off his head!
The moment is absolutely priceless! Luckily, Mountain caught Estella’s hilarious thievery– and the Pope’s brilliant reaction– on camera.
