Have You Noticed What’s Hidden In Almost Every Picture Of Princess Diana And Prince Charles?

If you were around in the 1980s, you probably remember the wedding of the Prince of Whales to Lady Diana Spencer, who came to be known affectionately to the world as Princess Di. Over 750 million people tuned in to see the royal nuptials, and for many young girls, it was like a real life fairytale come true.

At least, it felt like a fairytale until news broke about how incompatible and miserable the two were and about how Prince Charles had been carrying on a long-time affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles. But up until the two split in the 1990s, they were the image of the perfect happy ending.

After the wedding, the couple became one of the most photographed couples in history, but if you look closely at their photos you will notice something suspicious.

The curious phenomenon is especially noticeable in the posed portraits. If you look closely at some of the candid shots in which the couple was just standing around, there is a very stark difference. Take a close look at some photos of the two and see if you can spot what’s wrong.

No, it’s not Di’s famous 12-carat oval sapphire engagement ring surrounded by solitaire diamonds. The stunning $30,000 was selected by Diana herself, and copies have been selling in jewelry stores ever since. Admittedly, it’s an eye-catcher in every photo, but that’s not what’s odd about the photos.

Here’s why the pictures are strange: Prince Charles and Princess Diana are the same height. They’re both 5’10” tall, so that doesn’t even include the times she’s wearing heels. In some photos, such as the shot of them exiting the church after their wedding, it’s clear that they are the same height.

In most portraits and posed pictures, however, Charles towers above Di. In a 1981 British stamp, Di is dwarfed by her husband, barely coming up to his mouth. In most other photos, she comes up to about his ears, including in their official wedding portrait. In other photos, one of them is sitting down so their height difference (or, more accurately, the lack of a height difference) isn’t noticeable.

In some more impromptu body photos, Diana will even bend her legs, slouch a bit and lean her head in on her hubby’s shoulder to give the appearance of being shorter. Talk about image conscious!

Whatever the reasoning behind Charles’ height issues, you’ll never look at their photos the same way again. In fact, it’s a bit amusing thinking about Charles standing on a crate or something for those official portraits.
